Family Geography

The settings where our history unfolded, from Lombardy to Patagonia.

The history of the Pozzo Ardizzi family is a journey of migration and settlement. These are the three cardinal points that mark our historical and emotional path.

1. Vigevano (Lombardy, Italy)

The Cradle of the Lineage (15th Century)

Vigevano is the starting point. Here, in the 15th century, the Ardizzi family (later Pozzo Ardizzi) consolidated its social and political position.

Historical documents confirm that Abramo Ardizzi was a key diplomat for the city, acting as ambassador to the King of France and Duke Francesco Sforza. The city preserves the architecture of the Visconti-Sforza era that our ancestors inhabited.

2. Bahía Blanca (Buenos Aires)

The New Home (1886)

After the shipwreck of the Abissinia and the arrival on the Sirio, Bahía Blanca became the central hub of the family in Argentina.

Here, at the Parroquia Nuestra Señora de la Merced, the foundational marriages were celebrated:

  • 1888: Cesare Pozzo Ardizzi with Serafina Capelli.
  • 1895: Luigi Pozzo Ardizzi with Lucía Fantino.

The city witnessed the growth of the first Argentine generation and the tragic accident of Cesare.

3. Carmen de Patagones

The Southern Frontier

This was the setting for the family's labor expansion and rural life. In the area of "La Querencia" and the "Las Cruces" farm, the family operated the cargo transport business with wagons such as "La Pichona".

It is also the birthplace and home of Ángela Laureana ("La Negra") Pozzi, who became a beloved figure in the city for her work as a nurse.
